The ‘AnyWire’ HDMI Extender!

Sometimes a new product is simply so far “out of the box” that we can hardly contain ourselves. This clever and very high-tech extender is just such a device and we are excited to offer this unique device as part of our standard HDMI product range. (TX and RX SKU: HDMI-ANYWIRE and RX only SKU: HDMI-ANYWIRE-RX)

What does it do? ….

It allows a full HD signal from any HDMI source to be robustly transmitted over a long distance (up to 200m) using any pair of copper conductors. The conductors could be bell wire, old phone wire, speaker wire, 1 pair from a cat5/6 cable or even a pair from a damaged in wall HDMI cable (or a combination of all of the above). As long as there is a DC continuity over any two conductors, the AnyWire will do its job!

A 1:1 unicast connection or multicast connections of up to 1:4 can be deployed.

This is the most likely common configuration for the AnyWire. Notice that IR is passed back through to the source and that HDMI pass through is available.

The diagram below shows a multicast configuration by which one transmitter drives two receivers but could easily drive up to 4 receivers connected concurrently.

 

Again note that IR transmission from any/all of the destinations can be sent back to the transmitter. Finally, receivers can be cascaded up to 4 levels deep.
